 RELL 483 (EBL440K) was new to Alder Valley, though ordered by Thames Valley. It is seen when new at Hindhead depot, deep in the south of former Aldershot & District territory. |
ALDER VALLEY |
 Dual door RESL6Gs were ordered by Aldershot & District and delivered to Alder Valley. This pair - 487 & 489 (HOR487/9L) - are seen in Guildford Bus Station with one of the Marshall bodied REs delivered new to A&D and still in A&D livery. |
ALDER VALLEY  |
 Ordered by Thames Valley 491 (DRX630K) was delivered to Alder Valley in the new Ribble red livery. It is seen on the B express service from Reading to London on the A4 at Slough. Sadly the vehicle is bus seated. More interesting is the fact that the bus was used in the TV advertisement promoting the new National Bus Company. It lead a pack of buses from several NBC subsidiaries racing towards the camera. In preparation for its role, uniquely its cream band was painted white and white Alder Valley fleetnames were applied. All other buses in the fleet prior to being repainted in NBC poppy red acquired cream fleetnames to match their cream bands. |
