Many MCW Metroliners bought primarily for National Express coach work ended their days on London sightseeing work, their huge upper deck capacity proving a great attraction for operators, and probably a cheaper alternative to the extended ERM Routemaster conversions.

Former Shamrock & Rambler 3115 (B115ORU) became ML15 in the Original London Sightseeing Tour fleet. It is seen in Piccadilly Circus.
|
This example avoided National Express work, but was used on City of Oxford's Citylink services between the capital and the university city. It is in Trafalgar Square with a standard Metrobus and a Volvo Citybus. |
Another former Shamrock & Rambler Metroliner, their 3112, Arriva's ML12 (A112KFX) leaving the 2006 SHOWBUS. This was the bus' swansong performance. |
Metrobus ML12 was seen again in a livery akin to that used by Kentish Bus for their commuter Kentish Express services, but is not known to have operated for them. Interestingly, as seen above, it attended SHOWBUS 2006 in Arriva Sightseeing livery with a preserved Kentish Express MCW Metroliner. It is seen here, owner unknown, at the 2012 FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Liverpool, but clearly not full of Liverpool supporters! |
