Stagecoach acquired two adjacent London operating companies on privatisation, but the river separating them was deemed to allow sufficient competition. In 2006 Stagecoach sold the entire London operation to Australian investment company, Macquarie Bank. Five years later Stagecoach reacquired the operation at noticeably less than it sold it for!
