Brighton & Hove have recently switched their vehicle purchases from Dennis Tridents to the
new Scania Omnidekka. Two Omnidekkas were entered at SHOWBUS this year, jointly winning
the prize for best Go-Ahead vehicle. They are seen from the top deck of Rally Control.

651 (YN05GZL) seen in close up, the bus, like most B&H buses is named in honour of someone
who has associations with the Sussex coastal towns served by the company. 651 is named for
John Langridge, one of the best cricketers never to have played for England.

Metrobus entered two vehicles in the SHOWBUS rally, the doubledeck Olympian in the familiar -
and now replaced - blue and yellow livery, is alongside Scania Omnicity 550 (YN05HCF). Its
silver and blue livery is especially for the Fastway services around Crawley and Gatwick.
Further Omnicities were due to enter service shortly after SHOWBUS, but had not been delivered
in time to be displayed.

From the Rally Control top deck, one could get an excellent view of the crowds thronging the
stalls alongside the runway apron.
