Not all Plaxton bodied coaches could fit into the Plaxton display area and some select late
entries were parked near Rally Control, including this entry from Fernhill Travel of
Bracknell, who kindly conveyed some of our programmes sellers from Maidenhead. The coach
is not perched on a Volvo chassis, like so many Plaxton coaches, but is one of the recent
additions to the range on the Iveco Eurorider chassis.

You do have to look twice at this bus - unless you were looking at its reflection in the
American Air Museum's huge window. This AEC Regent was imported back into the UK from
Portugal, where it had spent its working life with Carris in Lisbon as their 255 with the
appropriate registration GB-21-07. The vehicle was an unexpected and very welcome entry
on the day and represented a large number of AECs that worked in Portugal in the early post
war period.
