Peter Newman's City Sightseeing kindly supplied a superb open topper for use as Rally Control
now that Wallace Arnold has disposed of their Ailsa. The Ailsa had been a stalwart at
SHOWBUS for many years, and its awning was particularly useful when the rain appeared at
prize time. Opposite Rally Control several vehicles from the associated City Sightseeing
and Ensignbus operations were present, including the pair of new Ayats bodied open top
doubledeckers. Alongside was another Colchester ECW bodied Atlantean, the third at the rally, and
Stratford Blue's Routemaster. A third Ayats open topper was also present as part of the
Arriva line up for the Original London Sightseeing Tour operation.

Former London RML2565 (JJD565D) is now part of Ensignbus' Stratford Blue operations. Whilst
these are mostly Citysightseeing operations around the historic Shakesperean town, they
include some conventional bus services. The livery used is Ensignbus' blue and cream,
neatly fitting the Stratford Blue identity.

Motts' Volvo B10M, appropriately registered B10MMT, was used by Rally Officials over the
weekend, journeying up on Friday afternoon to join the team already transported in Red Rose's
Ford Transit, recently acquired from Docklands Transit, N205YJM. The Jonckheere bodied coach
is seen resting behind the American Air Museum after its morning task of "Parking Reception"
which is the inscription on the yellow banner.

It was nice to welcome Plaxton back as an official SHOWBUS sponsor after the TransBus dilemmas.
Their appearance at the show involved a Plaxton Panther coach and a small sales stand. To
compliment this an exhibition of around 50 Plaxton coaches through the ages faced the runway
in the centre of the SHOWBUS display. The tail plane of the Museum's F15 is adjacent.
