Arriving at SHOWBUS around 11.30 was former SELNEC 2236 (RNA236J), which had journeyed down
from Manchester. The Daimler Fleetline with Mancunian style Park Royal body is preserved
in Greater Manchester Transport livery, rather than SELNEC's orange and white.

3001 was delivered new to Greater Manchester Transport and represented the new - and last -
Manchester standard design. As the inscription says, the Olympian bears the 1250th Northern
Counties standard body supplied to GMPTE.

The Manchester duo are tagged on to the end of this line up of Olympians. Nearest the
camera is a former National Welsh model now with Roundabout Buses, next is an ex Go-Ahead
example now with Cedric Coaches followed by an ex Lothian example with Preston Bus.

Merseyside PTE 1055 (A135HLV) is an Alexander bodied Leyland Atlantean, so typical of the
Merseyside fleet.
|
  |
Neighbouring Southport also had Alexander bodied Atlanteans, like 89 (VWM89L), which fitted
in when the fleet was absorbed into Merseyside in 1974. Alongside is an unidentied late entry
possibly a Merseyside Willowbrook bodied Olympian, which has some connection with a florists?
