From a different era is 2210 (PPM210G) a rare dual door model Bristol RESL delivered new to BH&D. Not long after, control of BH&D passed to Southdown and the familiar Tilling Red gave way to NBC green. RE 2210 is seen at the 2001 Southsea Spectacular alongside a United Counties RELH coach. |

Open top 603 (TPN103S) was one of a batch of unusal convertible dual door VRs delivered to BH&D at a time when the fleet was being fully absorbed by Southdown into NBC green livery. The bus was an early VR Mark III preservation candidate and is seen at the 1998 West of England Rally at Weston.

Evoking NBC days, two pristine VRs at Millennium Showbus were Southdown-BH&D 603 and Trent 837 (BRC837T).

Now preserved by Sholto Thomas FLF6G 91 (KPM91E) was one of the Lodekkas swapped with the Scottish Bus Group for Bristol VRTSL6G buses by NBC in 1973. The bus became Scottish Omnibuses AA971. In 1983 they converted it to an open toppper and numbered it OT2 and four years later it was withdrawn and acquired for preservation accommodated by Strathtay Scottish managed at the time by Sholto before he moved to Stagecoach West. The bus was painted into Brighton, Hove & District's open top livery, one it never wore in Brighton, and is seen at Warminster in 2010. Picture courtesy of Sholto Thomas |
