Before becoming subsumed in the National Bus Company East Kent bought its first rear engined doubledeckers in the shape of Park Royal - of course - bodied Daimler Fleetlines. Seen preserved at the centenary rally in 2011 was RFN953G, the first of twenty delivered in 1969.

Stagecoach East Kent Volvo Olympian Northern Counties in 1952 livery
As part of the Her Majesty's Golden Jubilee celebrations in 2002, Stagecoach East Kent painted former Southdown area Northern Counties Palatine bodied Volvo Olympian 246 (L246SDY) in 1952 East Kent livery. Most other companies chose to paint buses in gold and purple, and Stagecoach did have several in those colours throughout the realm. The bus joined other buses celebrating the Jubilee at SHOWBUS and it is seen here in the Duxford Jubilee line up, after the Gold Run from Trumpington.

The bus was also seen listing badly at the very wet 2002 Southsea Rally where it had to be abandoned until it could be rescued for repair.
