As Thamesdown's Scania slips by on the Site Shuttle, one of the most interesting vehicles at SHOWBUS 2006 is revealed. Entered by Grayscroft Coaches was a 1959 Ford Thames Trader with Burlingham coachwork, a very rare combination. The coach is appropriately registered GCC3 and originally hails from North Wales. Grayscroft are undertaking a major restoration of the vehicle and it managed to make its way from their Lincolnshire base under its own steam, but to be on the safe side, was accompanied by the firm's recovery truck. Alongside is another comparitive rarity, Silver Star's 1955 Harrington bodied Leyland Tiger. |

No less than three Harrington bodied coaches lined up in front of the American Air Museum at Showbus 2008. Nearest the camera is the Silver Star Leyland Tiger Cub, 26 (MMR853), the coach won the Doyen Singledeck prize. Alongside are a pair of AEC Reliances, Valliant's red and grey on AMX8A matching the livery of the Silver Star, and beyond 477AOP in Flights' livery. |

At SHOWBUS international 2010 26 joined, as it often does, a classic collection of coaches from Thornes of Bubwith. Next to 26 is their Duple Britannia bodied AEC Reliance, SHO800, then two Harrington bodied coaches: Seddon Mark 19 VHO200 and former Maidstone & District Leyland-Beadle, OKP980. |
