In the days of Julian Peddle, Stevensons was always keen to try something new, which resulted a continental style Mercedes Benz O405 with Wright Cityranger coachwork with the flash fleet number 100 (later 1100 in the combined Midland Red North/Stevensons operation). The bus, with equally flash registration L100SBS, is seen here rounding the Bull Ring.

Slightly less exotic hardware represented Stevensons at SHOWBUS in 1989 at Wooburn Abbey in the shape of Alexander PS bodied Scania K93CRB 109 (G109YRE).

Maidstone Corporation went from attractive Massey bodied Leyland Titan PD2A doubledeckers to imposing but plain Massey bodied Atlanteans. Maidstone 46 (OKM146G) is seen in here with Stevensons of Uttoxeter as 37. Both Stevensons and Maidstone effectively ended up in common ownership many years later under Arriva.

Former Northern General Park Royal bodied AEC Routemaster RMF-type 2099 (RCN699), new in 1964 was a favourite in the Stevensons fleet as its number 28. It is seen here at the Purfleet premises of Ensignbus on the occasion of the 1981 London Showbus Rally, which moved location from Lambeth Park at short notice due to the notorious Brixton riots.
