Flash back to days gone by. East Yorkshire 644 (VKH44) is an AEC Regent V of 1956 with Willowbrook bodywork. The vehicle unusually has an exposed Regent III style radiator. More unusually, the top deck windows and roof profile have been modified to allow the bus to fit through the Beverley Bar bridge. This feature was common place on EYMS double deckers until alternative routings gave access to the town centre.

Of the other older types in the East Yorkshire fleet a few Leyland Atlanteans remained around 2000. This is believed to be 902 (ANC 918T), an ex Manchester Park Royal bodied AN68 example.

A line up of Leyland Olympians with a Bristol VR and Leyland Atlantean is seen parked at the back of the
Hull depot on a Saturday morning. These vehicles were then relegated to school contracts.

East Yorkshire were one of the many customers of the batch of JTY-X Olympians sold off by Go Northern
in 1999 and 2000. These were bought to replace older Bristol and Leyland deckers.

One of a dying and popular type at East Yorkshire was the Bristol VR. Withdrawn and delicensed 799 (JYG433V) is seen here resting at the back of the Hull depot in May 2001 along with some withdrawn Atlanteans from the associated Finglands fleet in Manchester.
