 As is so often the case a major train replacement operation was in place over the 2003/2004 Christmas and New Year period. Seen in December was 199 (MO7984) new earlier in the year. |
 Sister vehicle 207 (MO8252) was only two months old. |
 Also in the vicinity of Wynyard Station was one month old 210 (MO8262). Connex had decided to standardise on Bustech bodywork and this trio was part of a batch of thirty on Scania L94UB chassis delivered in 2003 and on into the first few months of 2004.

 The Scanias had been preceded in 2002 by a dozen Bustechs on Mercedes O405NH chassis. This is 167 (MO8331). Sadly it suffered a serious accident in 2009 returning to service with a new Bustech VST front end and new rego 1813MO. |
 Sister Mercedes 164 (MO8330) is believed to have been seen at Liverpool, but it is not known when the photo was taken. After the Scania delivery Connex reverted to Mercedes in 2006 on the O500LE chassis with the new Bustech VST body.
