An earlier Anglian livery lived on in New Zealand. Seen in March 2013 the Auckland Explorer was in the hands of nationwide operator Ritchies and an Optare Spectra doubledecker had been acquired to operate on the service. The bus was formerly 501 (YJ56ASZ) new in 2006. The UK livery conveniently needed no modification for use on the tour. The bus is seen departing the Ferry Terminal. |
Taken at the same time as the first shot, this view shows the Spectra, now 643 (ERQ751) with Ritchies with the Ferry Building clearly visible.

The Optare Spectra was still going strong in November 2017, though its days were numbered with new glass roofed Alexander Dennis Enviro500 buses on order. It had been given a repaint from the Anglan scheme plus Gray Line branding.
