Emblings Bristol VRs
The 2001 SHOWBUS rally greeted entries with a line up of Bristol VR buses. Local operator Emblings is a keen VR operator and this impressive line up of four examples helped to complete the line up. Note the first in line is a 14' 6" model, rather than the standard 13' 8" ECW body. The others were new to Devon General/Western National and passed to other Stagecoach companies when the minibuses invaded the West Country. The three here are likely to have gone to Ribble.

This ECW highbridge bodied VRTLS3, SJI6569, appeared in the 2001 display, separated from the above group and alongside Carter's singledeck conversion. The VR was new as Ribble 1439 (LHG439T), passing to Stagecoach Scotland's early Magicbus operation and then Kelvin Central later gaining its new registration with Kimes of Folkingham before arriving in Guyhirn. It was last heard of in France.

In 2003 the actual buses expected from local company Emblings changed a bit at the last minute, but the line up of three very tidy Bristol VRs and a Willowbrook Warrior rebodied Leyland Leopard, RFC13T, (ex Oxford Citylink 13) was impressive as the fleet is well cared for.

Embling Bristol VR display
Emblings impressive fleet of Bristol VRs comes from a variety of sources. Leading this SHOWBUS line up is an unsual high bridge version, LHG438T, originally Ribble 1439. Alongside out of sight was former Colchester 66 (NNO66P) an Atlantean with highbridge ECW bodywork, giving it a similar appearance to the Ribble VR. The display earnt Emblings the coveted "Premier Operator Award" at SHOWBUS international 2004.
