 Trailways of New York is one of the largest privately held transportation companies based in New York State operating over 150 trips per day to more than 140 destinations in New York, New Jersey, and Canada. It is the largest and longest continuously operating intercity bus carrier in the State and partners with Megabus. The company was founded in 1926 by the Van Gonsic Berardi family as the Rip Van Winkle buses with commuter services between New York and the Hudson Valley. Later a long term revenue sharing partnership was formed with Greyhound as Trailways express network covered many of their routes. Their areo ther affiliations within the Trailways group including Greyhound Academy, Fullington Trailways, Martz Trailways, Barons Bus Lines, Bieber Transportation, Short Line Coach USA, Lakefront Lines, and Peter Pan.
