 Celebrating Pittsburgh's Father Time, Robert Garland, is Advantage 5448. Garland was instrumental in introducing daylight saving time to the United States in 1918. The hour of summer time was abolished after World War I, but local councillor, Garland, managed to retain it in Pittsburgh! The US readopted daylight saving in 1966. |
 With the exception of the six hybrids, the Port Authority's Gillig Advantages were powered by Detroit series 50 diesels. From the 2006 deliveries, starting at 5501 a switch was made to Cummins engines with Voith transmission. Advantage 5515 is one of those first Cummins powered deliveries. |
