Port Authority Gillig Advantage 5646
Crossing the Monongahela River by the Smithfield Street Bridge is Advantage 5646. The bridge was originally used by streetcars and was built in 1883 to a design by Gustav Lindenthal, who also designed New York's Hell Gate Bridge, similar in style to Sydney Harbour Bridge. Proclaiming "Go Steelers!" 5646 is supporting the local football team, which owes its name to the city's steel making history, doubtless including the steel of the bridge's structure.
