Arriva the Shires Leyland Olympian ECW
The new Wycombe Bus Station has capacity problems. The Olympian departing on the 328 for Reading arrived late to find its stand occupied. It chose to depart from elsewhere in the Bus Station leaving frustrated passengers behind. Back then they did have the choice of the 2 as far as Marlow, the rear end of their ex Armchair Olympian is visible. Note the digital destination display installed on the ex London decker.

Seen at Millennium Showbus is one of the Trident Alexander ALX400 buses, 5432 (W432XKX), delivered to Luton to oust the last of The Shires Bristol VR buses. Alongside is an early Dart SLF of the Essex & Herts fleet.

Arriva the Shires Dennis Trident Alexander ALX400 5422
Arriva the Shires were favoured with Dennis Tridents rather than Volvo B7TL or DAF deckers. Several were acquired for the 37/38 services in Luton and 5422 (W422XKX) was displaced to High Wycombe when new Scania/Wright singldeckers took over the Luton routes. The Tridents transferred to Wycombe were the town's first low floor deckers. Alexander ALX400 bodied 5422 is seen descending Marlow Hill into the town after a morning school contract on January 12th 2006.
