First Capital Dennis Dart Wadham Stringer
Seen in Leyton on the W19 in late October, still sporting 'First Capital' fleetnames is this rarity - a Wadham Stringer Portsdown bodied Dennis Dart. The bus was acquired from Wealden Beeline in 1995 and represents what were probably the occasional 'bargain' buys that characterised the Capital Citybus fleet and shared with Stevensons of Uttoxeter and subsequently Status Group fleets.

As 714 leaves Statford, the East London Excel in the background in red helps to bear testimony to the delayed repainting of 714. The Excel had long since been repainted out of Harris Bus blue and lime.

British Airways Leyland National 2
This former British Airways Leyland National 2, was triple doored. It passed to Bluebird Buses in Scotland and found its way within First Group from Capital in London to Provincial in Hampshire. It is seen here in Provincial colours looking particularly well turned out at the 2001 Southsea Rally.
First
Abbey Park Road depot
The post municipal Leicester fleet - an assortment of vehicles at Abbey Park Road depot. Nearest the camera is a later East Lancs bodied Dennis Dominator, alongside in blue and yellow is a former East Kent Leyland National, its purpose unclear. Next is an ex Capital Citybus Volvo B6 with Northern Counties bodywork rubbed down and ready for repaint. Sandwiched between a pair of East Lancs bodied Dominators of a different style are a pair of First Capital Northern Counties bodied Dominators, still in yellow and red. Tagged on the end of the line between another pair of East Lancs Dominators is a former Glasgow Olympian/Alexander in yellow line livery.
