Stagecoach South West Trains Olympian
An unexpected entry was this ex Hong Kong triaxle decker, one of several Stagecoach has painted in South West Trains colours primarily for rail replacement work.
Stagecoach
Ensignbus Dennis Condor / Duple Metsec ex NWFB DA17 (EV 2009)
Ensignbus 448, an ex New World First Bus Dennis Condor Duple Metsec formerly DA17 (EV2009) and now registered in the UK as H648PVW. The bus had the honour of bringing Peter Newman to the event.

Hong Kong Triaxles
The first one or two ex Hong Kong deckers to book in this year had stalls on board, which we locate in a special area. When the next HK decker booked in it made sense to keep them together and before we knew where we were we had six of them! Whilst the New World First Bus Dennis, a SHOWBUS regular, and the Citybus Olympian at the far end are preserved, the other buses are all in service in the UK, most usually on school work. The giants are a cost effective alternative to running two 53 seat coaches on some school runs. Talisman's Alexander bodied Olympian, J534CEV, echoes Stagecoach's branding of the three new tri-axles it bought for the UK in 1989 - "Megga Dekka".

Don's Coaches BIG8728 & Beeston's M129BNO
Local operator Don's Coaches of Dunmow said it all in the registration: BIG8728. Alongside is Beeston's Alexander bodied Olympian, M129BNO, originally China Light & Power 316 (GE5021) in 1997. The bus passed to Morton's as thir D17BUS, and after some modifications to Pulhams as their PUI9401. The Don's Alexander bodied Olympian was China Light & Power 316 (FC8014) daing from 1992 on a Leyland chasis. Not included in our photos is yet another ex HK decker which formed part of the Lodge Coaches display, then there were all those tri-axle deckers including the Bova Synergy, the two MCW Metroliners and Westways Van Hool and there may well have been more!
