Brighton & Hove dual door Bristol VRTSL3 595
With Brighton & Hove being carved out of the merged Southdown and Brighton, Hove & District fleets, it was not surprising that many of their initial fleet were former Southdown machines. This Bristol VRTSL3 was clearly intended for Brighton with its dual door layout, though was new as Southdown 595 (TNJ995S).
Brighton & Hove
Brighton & Hove single door Bristol VRTSL3 ECW 270
Former 270 (JWV270W) was a singledoor model, also new to Southdown in NBC green in 1981, but passing to B&H five years later. It is seen at the 2007 North Weald Rally as a preserved model. New with a Leyland engine it was re-engined with the 6LXB from Southdown 587 (PUF587R) in 1990. It was repainted in the pictured livery in 1996. This was the last VR in B&H ownership when withdrawn in 2000.
