Armchair was a company with a strong background in London coaching, which diversified successfully into the London bus operating market and was then taken over by Comfort Del-Gro's Metroline, the name remained on coaching operations for a while before disappearing completely.

Typical of the coach fleet was this Van Hool bodied Volvo B10M, seen in the vicinity of Victoria Coach Station.

First purchased for routes in West London were a fleet of Alexander and ECW bodied Leyland Olympians. This is one of the latter seen after being transferred to the 237 contract.

Later Volvo Olympians had Northern Counties attractive Palatine body - R417SOY is also on the 237 in Hounslow.

Seen at Showbus 97 is one of the large fleet of Dart SLF/Pointers purchased by Armchair for services in the Ealing area, believed to be P677RWU.

Non low floor Darts were also puchased, like what is thought to be P156MLE, new in 1996, seen here on the 117 outside Hounslow Bus Garage.
