Reading Buses 954 (R209DKG), a former Cardiff Optare Excel, approaches the outskirts of High Wycombe on the service that used to be Thames Valley, then Alder Valley, then Bee Line, then joint Reading Buses and Bee Line, then joint Reading Buses and Reading BusesWycombe Bus, then joint Reading Buses and Arriva and now wholly Arriva after some competition from Carousel Buses from 2016 to 2018! This is one of several Cardiff Excels rendered surplus from the Welsh capital as they standardised on Darts. The bus passed to Reading, who swapped them with Eastbourne for Optare Spectras. |

Cardiff 208 (R208DKG) is seen in Wycombe Bus Station, not long after arrival from Cardiff. The bus became 40 with Eastbourne. |
  |
Earlier an Eastbourne bus ended up in Cardiff. Cardiff has bought secondhand vehicles from time to time. A very unusual purchase was this Seddon bodied Seddon Pennine IV 25 seat dual purpose midibus which used to be Eastbourne 94 (MJK94L) and became 106 in Cardiff. Unique in the Eastbourne fleet, it joined Cardiff's own small batch of Pennine IVs. |
Another sold Eastbourne bus was former 24 (J124FUF) a Wadham Stringer bodied Dennis Javelin, one of several Wadham Stringer bodied Dennis vehicles on Dart, Lance and Javelin chassis bought by Eastbourne in early nineties. Javelin 24 was bought by Red Rose Travel of Aylebury where its 55 seat capacity was valued on school routes. It is seen here refuelling at Keith Garages (once the home of Red Rover of Aylesbury) still in Eastbourne livery. |

Former 24 is seen in Aylesbury's Market Square, with the impressive Law Courts behind. The bus is on route to Bicester now painted in Red Rose colours. |
