There never seemed an end to vehicle problems at Alder Valley and this Bristol Lodekka was transferred from Southdown, though originally Brighton, Hove & District 79 (HPN79D). It slotted in nicely as Alder Valley 679. It is seen in Wycombe High Street on local service 25. |
Extended Lodekka - look at the rear most windows - ex Eastern National 2928 (AVW397F), was seen still in NBC leaf green in Newbury Bus Station. The bus ended its days as an open topper in Hong Kong. |

Lodekka 673 (GRX141D) was painted as an all over advertisement for home heating by coal. It is seen leaving the showground in Hillingdon after a mid seventies SHOWBUS. |
ALDER VALLEY |
Alder Valley 673 was taking part in the display of all over advertisement buses at SHOWBUS and is seen alongside RP87 (JPA187K) of London Country advertising Airfix kits and visible beyond that is a City of Oxford Northern Counties bodied Daimler Fleetline advertising South Midland coach tours. |

This pair of Lodekkas ended their days as driver training buses. They are seen at Reading depot in 1975, renumbered as 28 (JCY992) and 14 (MBL844). The former was new in 1954 as United Welsh 1245, later renumbered 298 and becoming Thames Valley 794 when acquired in October 1967 and Alder Valley 505 on fleet formation in 1972. The bus on the right is more of a native, new in 1956 as one of Thames Valley's coach seated Lodekkas for London express services. It was reseated as a bus in 1971 when it had become Alder Valley 536, but was new as Thames Valley 763. |
