Formerly D40 (GRX140D) in the Thames Valley fleet, this Gardner engined Bristol Lodekka FLF6G is seen at the 2001 Cobham bus rally in Alder Valley NBC poppy red livery, but devoid of fleetnames and Alder Valley fleetnumber 672. |
Lodekka 650 (DRX122C) ended its Alder Valley days as a mobile uniform store in this reversed NBC livery. |
Another Lodekka in semi-retirement is this unidentified FLF on training duties in High Wycombe depot.

On July 7th 1973 fire destroyed former London Express Lodekka D4 (ABL116B) at Reading depot. Though the coach (Alder Valley 636) had by then been demoted to bus duties, it retained the leather coach seats and other fittings from its more glorious days. The LD alongside is believed to be 551, ex Thames Valley 782 (NBL739) which also suffered fire damage as did the bus on the opposite side of D4. |

This view shows how intense the fire was. Apparently other buses in the yard were saved by staff driving them away from the trio of blazing vehicles.
