The only FS in the Thames/Alder Valley fleets was 588 (566ERR) acquired from Mansfield District only a month or two before Thames Valley and Aldershot & District merged. The bus managed to retain its fleet number in the merger and is seen here in Newbury depot a few years later having been repainted into poppy red.

The FS6G again, on the left, is seen in company with two LDs at Newbury Wharf Bus Station, the centre one is ex United Welsh. |
Bristol LD6G 575 (14DRB) is seen at Slough Station in the early days of NBC ownership. Former Notts & Derby 465 is still in Tilling Red and cream but the poster on the side expresses the pride it has in being part of the National Bus Company and it has ceased to be Thames Valley 636. |

Whether this group of Lodekkas is as proud to be part of the NBC is debatable. The two identifiable LDs are former Thames Valley 769 - AV542 (MBL850) and 756 - AV529 (MBL837) they both ended their days with Yorkshire breakers in 1974 and 1973 respectively. Ex Notts & Derby 575 above followed in 1976. |

Former D55 (PBL55F) is seen in the early days of Alder Valley with its new Alder Valley fleet number plate, 687, in Newbury Bus Station. The bus was exchanged a few years later for a Western SMT Bristol VRTSL6G, it became 2437 north of the border. |
