Arriva Merseyside line up
Lined up in the bus station in central Liverpool in April 2000, two months after MTL had been acquired by Arriva, is an interesting selection of vehicles. Harking back to bygone days is a very Liverpool standard Alexander bodied Atlantean, another is just seen extreme left. In between is an early Dart SLF/Plaxton and to the right one of the new Marshall SLFs, already painted in Arriva colours. Wright bodied MTL liveried Volvos complete the picture with a Northern Counties bodied Olympian entering from the right.

Arriva Merseyside MCW Metrobus 2
Amongst the mixed bag of doubledeckers delivered to the Merseyside fleet after the Atlantean ceased production was a batch of Mark 2 Metrobuses, of which this is one.

Arriva Merseyside Leyland Olympian Alexander 0231
Having an air of 'Liverpool standard' is this double decker, Alexander bodied Leyland Olympian 0231 (F231YTJ).

Arriva Merseyside Neoplan and Leyland Titan
A similar vehicle near the Pier Head, being overtaken by one of the Neoplan singledeckers originally purchased for a special MPTE contract. Just rounding the corner is one of Merseyline's Titans.

Arriva Merseyside Leyland Titans
The main operator of Titans on Merseyside was of course Arriva. Their days were numbered since the Arriva takeover of MTL. Many came from MTL's associated London fleet MTL London North. This pair were simultaneously arriving and departing at the Pier Head.
