Whilst the doubledeck MTL fleet could still field Alexander bodied Atlanteans in June 2000, the singledeckers had Leyland National 2s on active service, like this one at the Pier Head.

A sizeable batch of low floor Dart SLFs was purchased with fairly ubiquitous Plaxton Pointer bodywork. However final deliveries were bodied with Marshall Citybus coachwork.

More impressive were the lowfloor Neoplan N4016 models, painted out of their MPTE yellow/white livery into MTL colours.

MTL branded a number of their Volvo/Wright singledeckers with the 'SMART' logo - here for the 12/13 Loliner services - which was emblazoned along the side windows.

Arriva North West was formed out of the southern Ribble cast off, North Western and the Drawlane Bee Line minibus operation in Manchester, together with parts of Crosville, trading as C-line. The former MTL operation was initially branded as Arriva Merseyside, but ultimately was also absorbed into Arriva North West. This view has North West Scania L113CRL with Northern Counties bodywork, then three years old, in Liverpool with former MTL Volvo B10B 6302 (L302TEM) with Alexander Strider body. The Arriva liveried Scania was new as Bee Line 1044 (P244NBA). | |||||||
