Plaxton bodied DAF SB3000 4055 (R454SKX) is seen at Millennium Showbus shortly after passing to Arriva Southend from Arriva the Shires, having been ousted by new DAF/Plaxtons on their 757 Luton Airport service.

Speeding along the Embankment is this Green Line liveried Plaxton Paramount bodied coach on the London commuter run shared between First Essex and Arriva. The coach is thought to be DAF SB2305 E573EPB, ex Farnham Coaches. A Van Hool bodied DAF of the North Kent Express fleet is loading at the kerb side.

This very standard looking ECW bodied Leyland Olympian, 4504 (H264GEV), actually boasts coach seating and was used on the London routes by Southend. It is seen here at the 1999 North Weald Rally freshly painted in Arriva livery.

Same place, one year later and another coach seated Olympian - only this time the bus was an acquisition from Southern Vectis on the Isle of Wight, believed to have been 701 (A701DDL). It entered servce with Southend Transport as 256 (A110FDL) and is seen here as Arriva serving Southend 5384. It later passed to Western Greyhound. On the Isle of Wight it was NBC green then silver, in Southend blue then aquamarine and in Cornwall pink then green!

Forward to North Weald 2009 and Olympian 4504 reappeared, seen here alongside Fourways Duple Metsec bodied Dennis Dragon, G310FWC, which had been new to China Motor Bus as their DA1 (EM8530). |
