Rotala established operations in Bristol by purchasing the bus division of South Gloucestershire Bus & Coach in 2007. They built the operation with contracts gained, particularly for Park & Ride and University services. Unfotunately it lost most of its tendered services to other operators in 2017 and what remained was unviable so the operation was closed down by September 2018. Nine vehicles and eight remaining services were transferred to Stagecoach West and First took over the 42 with no vehicles trnsferred. By and large the fleet was dispersed to other Rotala subsidiaries.
Wessex Connect Dennis Dart SLF Plaxton 2504
Seen in Bristol city centre in March 2011 is Wessex Connect 2504 (KU52YJX), a Dennis Dart SLF with Plaxton Pointer body, new to HAD of Shotts in Scotland. The bus transferred to Black Diamond as 20202 whilst Wessex Connect was still going strong.

Wessex Connect Enviro200 MCV 10002
Rotala has invested heavily in new vehicles for key services, with suitable marketing and livery. The "one-2-one" competes with First's long established Bristol to Weston-super-Mare service and has a fleet of new MCV eVolution bodied Alexander Dennis Enviro200 chassis. Here is 10002 (AE10CUC).

Wessex Connect Alexander Dennis Enviro200 20524
Seen near Bristol University in Queens Road, about to head down Park Street, is Alexander Dennis Enviro200 20524 (YX09HZB). In August 2014 its new red and silver livery was commonplace throughout the city, having displaced the blue and white scheme. The bus was new to the Veolia's Aston subsidiary in Kempsey and used there prior to the demise of Veolia in bus operation. See later for a picture of it with Diamond Midlands.
