Standerwick Bristol VRLLH6L ECW National 78
We've dipped into our collection of scanned coloured slides for this week's picture from the seventies. Seen arriving at Victoria Coach Station from the north west is ECW bodied Bristol VRLLH6L 78 (PRN78K). These impressive machines were new in Standerwick's cream and Ribble red livery but had to succomb to National Express white. The management at Ribble thought that a monolith in unrelieved white would be too much and added blue trim to 78. This did not sit well with the powers that be in National Bus corporate headquarters and 78, like the rest of the VR fleet, became unrelieved white.
We have thousands of pictures to choose from for our Picture of the Week but you are welcome to send in your own. If we do not feature it here, it may appear later in our picture gallery.
Ideally pictures should be 732 pixels wide and no more than 100kB.
